SUM Hospital-2 conducts Pink October Campaign

Doctors, faculty members and students participated enthusiastically in the Pink October Campaign which was organised at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital-2 at Phulnakhara on NH-16 on October 29.

Launched in late September, the campaign focused on creating awareness about breast cancer with emphasis on key topics like screening, self-examination, myths and facts.

The program was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) Prasenjit Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Arakhita Swain, Dean of the institute, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Siddharth Goutam, Additional Medical Superintendent and Prof. (Dr.) Padmalaya Devi, Head of Department of Surgical Oncology.

Dr. Garima Sarawgi, Associate Professor, conducted an engaging online quiz, which rounded off the campaign.

The participants, who included the institute’s first batch of MBBS students, took part in poster and slogan competitions. The program also underlined IMS and SUM Hospital-2’s dedication to the subject of breast cancer awareness and commitment to community health and fight against cancer.
