Anti ragging week observed at SOA
A flurry of activities marked the observance of ‘Anti Ragging Week’ at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here from August 14 to 18 to create awareness among faculty, staff and students against ragging.
During the five days, various activities including debate, essay writing, coining of slogan, poster making and rangoli were held in different campuses of SOA as per UGC guidelines.
Orientation programs were held at the institute and hostel level involving students and staff to ensure a ragging free campus. Over 400 staff members and 4000 students attended the awareness programs.
The prizes were distributed among the winners of different competitions on Tuesday at an event which was attended by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda.
The program was also addressed by Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Dean of the Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS) and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare). Dr. Anshuman Jena, Faculty Coordinator, welcomed the guests while Dr. Neha Gupta, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
