SOA Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management holds training program for students of S.B. Women’s Autonomous College

A fortnight-long training program on ‘hotel operations’ for 43 students of the post-graduate department of Home Sciences of the Sailabala Women’s Autonomous College at Cuttack was held at the School of Hotel Management, faculty of hospitality and tourism management of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here, from November 1 to 14.

The objective of the training program was to educate and train the students on various aspects of hotel operations which broadly covered all major areas such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverages Service and Production enabling them to gain the required experience.

The comprehensive training, while honing the attitude, skill and knowledge of the students needed by the industry, sought to equip them with competence in areas like customer service, communication, problem solving and operational management.

The entire program was ably managed by a team of faculty members having rich and varied experience in the domain of hospitality and tourism management.

The valedictory ceremony of the program was held on Thursday with Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar of SOA attending as the Chief Guest. Prof. Susanta Ranjan Chaini, Dean of SHM, who was present, appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students who participated in the program.
