SOA officials call on Ethiopian Ambassador

Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University Prof. (Dr.) Amit Banerjee and its Director, International Relations and University Outreach Programme, Prof. Nachieketa K. Sharma called on the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Demeke Atnafu Ambulo at New Delhi recently.

Mr. Ambulo evinced keen interest about students from Ethiopia who were pursuing their studies at SOA.

Prof. Sharma apprised the Ambassador of the different faculties of SOA and the university’s pre-eminent position in the educational scenario of the country. He also informed how Ms. Tsegnet, an Ethiopian student, joined the university as a graduate and was on the last leg of her Ph.D under SOA Fellowship. He also apprised him of the superlative performance by Ethiopian students who had graduated from SOA under Study in India Scholarship.

Prof. Banerjee extended an invitation to Mr. Ambulo to pay a visit to the university to get acquainted with SOA and Odisha.

The Ambassador mooted a full-day programme which could go a long way in boosting mutual ties related to education, business and commerce. Besides, Ethiopia's renowned status as one of the topmost tourist-friendly destinations in the world and the exemplary performance of Ethiopian Airlines in establishing a robust aero-hub in the African continent were appreciated by the Chancellor.
