SOA Radio reaches out to create awareness against drug abuse

Voice of SOA Community 90.4, the community radio centre of the SOA Deemed to be University, conducted a program to create social awareness against drug abuse on Sunday coinciding with International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Students, who participated in the program, took a pledge to stay away from drugs and expressed their views on creation of a drug free society through talks, songs and dance.

β€œIt is always a proud moment when students take the responsibility to lead a clean and positive life,” Ms. Honey Patnaik, Officer-in-charge of SOA Radio, said.

The radio team visited a slum near Gandamunda to conduct a narrowcasting program on Accelerating Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) including complementary foods and feeding practices to improve child nutrition. The women of the slum were told about the need for breastfeeding and complementary feed for infants in the age group of 0-6 and 5-12 months respectively. The program was supervised by Ms. Subhrasima Mohanty and Mr. Satyaranjan Swain of SOA Radio.
