SOA Radio holds narrowcasting for students on climate change
Voice of SOA Community 90.4, the community radio of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here, conducted a narrowcasting program in the university campus recently on the impact of climate change.
Narrowcasting is the broadcast of a program to a localized or specialized audience.
More than 800 students participated in the event where the why and how of climate change were discussed alongside several cultural programs to pass on the message. The programs included flash mobs, songs, dances and skits relating to the subject.
The resource persons included Mr. Abhishek Mani, who attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference –COP27—held in Egypt last month, Mr. Satyabrata Samal, Founder Director, Sattvic Soul Foundation, Ms. Neelima Mishra, climate activist and founder of Ceiba Green Solutions who informed and educated the youth on climate change while emphasizing on its impact.
“Students are the strength and future of this world. When they understand the problem, half of our battle will be won,” Ms. Honey Patnaik, Station Director (Incharge) of SOA Community Radio 90.4, said.
