SHM organizes 15-day cooking training program for women

A fortnight-long cooking training program for women was inaugurated at the School of Hotel Management (SHM), faculty of hospitality and tourism management of SOA, here on Wednesday.

Thirty persons, who had enrolled for the program christened ‘Wee Can Cook’, would be trained in preparation of nutritious Indian and continental food as also in bakery and confectionary. Besides, they would also be trained in preparation of popular mocktails and other food and beverage service activities.

Ms. Saroja Choudhury, Managing Director, Rosy’s Kitchen and chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the program which was also attended by Prof. Manjula Das, SOA’s Controller of Examination. Ms. Choudhury said that women, who had the gift of cooking, should learn to be self-sufficient by using their talent while Prof. Das, who was the guest of honour, said that women had the responsibility to keep the family healthy and safe.

Dr. Sapan Kumar Sadual, Dean In-charge of SHM and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
